At The Lotus Center, we believe that happiness is not determined by the things that happen to us in life, but by what you do about what happens. The Lotus Center exists for one purpose, to help bring about world peace through true individual happiness. I don't mean the type of happiness that is dependent upon possessions, relationships or even good health, because all of these things can change; but that indestructible happiness that comes with never being defeated by any obstacles in your life. The realization that you have the ability to make your life into whatever you wish and the power to change that which you do not like about it. The methodology of that change will be dependent upon your life philosophy.
At The Lotus Center of Dothan we welcome diversity in religion, culture, nationality and ethnicity. Based on this spirit of diversity, we respect and value each person. At the Center, we understand the importance of one-on-one dialogue. Engaging in dialogue permits meaningful interchange to take place, can help forge mutual trust and foster greater awareness. At The Lotus Center, we help people confidently overcome obstacles in health, emotions, spirituality, breaking through their personal limitations, and achieving victory in their life. This victory acts as a beacon of hope that shows no matter how great the challenges are, we can overcome them and become truly happy.
I know that happiness is different for everyone, but there is one aspect necessary to reach this state and that is wellness. Wellness of body, of mind, and spirit. Without a balance among these three phenomena, happiness is difficult to attain and impossible to keep. So whether you are struggling with physical issues, emotional issues, or spiritual identity, we can help. Using Traditional Chinese Medicine, Buddhist principles, meditation, Life Coaching and Mediation, we help you view these challenges from a totally different perspective. A perspective where you see yourself as a loving and compassionate being, worthy of the very best life has for you and the desire to share this with others, so they can feel the same way about themselves. In Buddhism we call this person a "Bodhisattva".
- The mission of a Bodhisattva of the earth and that of The Lotus Center are the same: Siddhartha Gautama, the historical Buddha, said it best in the The Lotus Sutra, the highest of his teaching. Which he shared exclusively during his ending years.
"As the light of the sun and moon can banish all obscurity and gloom, so this person as he advances through the world can wipe out the darkness of living beings. I do not seek some far off Utopia divorced from the harsh realities of society, but I am committed to striving for the happiness of the people, alongside the people, and in this troubled world.“
That commitment is what a mother and father have for their children, siblings for each other, married couples for each other and we should have for everyone. We believe that all people are Bodhisattva of the earth with the strength to help each other heal. We know that there are moments of darkness in our lives. Sometimes health, relationships, even our own spiritual identity prevent us from seeing ourselves as the powerful, passionate, loving beings that we all are. Through The Lotus Center's efforts, we hope to illuminate the lives of those around us and help dispel these moments of darkness and confusion.
We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and the honor of being your guide.
